Kairos 2024

While most people in India were gearing up for the much awaited Diwali weekend to celebrate the Indian festival of lights, around 6000 Catholic youth with fire and zeal in their hearts set out to a small town in India to celebrate the true Light of the world, Jesus Christ.

On the morning of 31st November, the little picturesque town of Pondicherry welcomed these Catholic youth to an event like no other – KAIROS 2024. This electrifying four day event was organized by the ICYM and YU4C India from 31st October to 3rd November, 2024.
KAIROS provided a platform for renowned speakers from across the country to present substantial formation for our young people. The insightful and engaging talks and seminars helped clear fundamentals of the Catholic faith in a skillfully simplified manner.

Spread across four days, KAIROS saw bands like By Grace, David’s Harp as well as youth bands from multiple states of India leading the youth into praise and worship through their different renditions. A memorable highlight of Kairos was the pro-life art exhibition organized by Eva Pro-life, an initiative of the Kalyan Diocese. Lasting friendships were fostered among youth of different states who came together sharing their culture and love for Jesus.

The Holy Eucharist celebrated daily, the sacrament of reconciliation, praying of the holy Rosary, adoration and counselling was an integral part of the event and further enriched the experience of God’s bountiful love and mercy for the youth.

We glorify God for Kairos 2024 truly was a time of great joy and rejoicing as each youth left with a deeper and enriched experience of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus.
