Jesus Encounter Youth Retreat (4th,5th,6th Oct, 2024)
A three-day Jesus Encounter Youth retreat was organized by the CCR-YU4C Mumbai from the 4th to the 6th of October 2024 at the Vinayalaya Retreat Centre at Andheri. 18 youth spent a grace filled weekend together reconnecting and reigniting their relationship with the Lord.
A vast array of topics like Sin & it’s Consequences, the Influence of Music, Repentance, Honouring one’s parents, making good choices & dealing with failure were covered. The youth were encouraged and trained in various aspects of the daily Christian life, and were given detailed insights on combating spiritual warfare. Choices of relying on the Holy Spirit, strengthening one’s faith by imbibing of Scripture and a daily commitment to Personal Prayer were some of the highlights. All young people in attendance were challenged to seek God with fervour and not as per convenience.
The second day marked an important time of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Counselling followed by a series of youth friendly sessions that helped youth grow in their understanding of God. The Infilling of the Holy Spirit followed which was a spirit-filled time of prayer where the youth had a powerful experience of God among other blessings. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated daily and the music ministry ensured that the youth were alert and aware of God’s presence through uplifting praise and worship sessions throughout the three days of the retreat. The retreat concluded with a time of sharing of testimonies and a fun Jam Session which set everyone’s hearts on fire with the love of God.
We praise and glorify God for all that He has done in the lives of these youth and we continue to pray for them as they live a life close to Jesus.
